The Fan2Sea Cruise is the ultimate pop culture vacation experience. Set sail on Royal Caribbean International’s Brilliance of the Seas® visiting Tampa, Key West and Cozumel on a 4-day adventure. Packed full of world-class panels, exclusive celebrity meet-and-greets, live entertainment, themed parties, cosplay, poolside events and more, Fan2Sea is a stunning event set aboard a beautiful Radiance-class ship.
The cruise will leave port at 4:00pm, but you must be on board 90 minutes beforehand. Please allocate time for customs upon arrival. On January 23rd, the cruise will return to port at 7:00am, but disembarkation may take several hours.
No, you do not need a passport.
It is suggested that you have one, but if you do not then you may may sail with either a valid passport, proof of citizenship and a valid government-issued photo I.D. (driver’s license with a photo), or any other WHTI compliant document.
Proof of Citizenship examples include:
•State certified U.S. birth certificate
•Original certificate of U.S. naturalization
•Original certificate of U.S. citizenship
Passports must be valid for at least six (6) months after the scheduled return date of the trip. Non-US citizens must contact the appropriate consular office for entry requirements pertaining to your trip. If you are a non-US citizen, you are responsible for knowing what type of Visa may be required for travel.
Yes! Fan2Sea features a wide array of parties, environments, screening events cocktail lounges, and live entertainment that will have specific themes to be unveiled in the months ahead.
Your experience includes a 4-night excursion from Tampa to Key West and Cozumel and back; onboard meals; most onboard con activities (excluding select elite/VIP meet-and-greets, autograph sessions and photo ops, which can be added to your itinerary as an up-charge event), themed parties and social mixers, screening marathons, costume/cosplay contests, and world-class panel presentations.
Items not included in your Fan2Sea vacation include but are not limited to airport/departure taxes; cost of passport and visas; taxes; excess baggage charges; laundry; phone calls; all items of a personal nature; items not included on regular menus; meals not detailed in the itinerary; and health, accident, baggage, or travel protection plans.
Prices do not include airfare or ground transportation, airport transfers to or from the cruise ship, personal expenses such as photos, souvenirs and island tours, sodas, bottled water or alcoholic beverages (unless otherwise noted at a scheduled onboard party), or any other extra activities that you may choose to participate in on the ship or on shore that require a fee. Please note, while in port, CASH ONLY accepted onboard. Please plan accordingly.
Whatever you wear at home that you are comfortable in is what you can wear when on board. You should wear comfortable, casual attire, and of course your favorite cosplay costumes and accessories!
NOTE: When boarding, your photograph will be taken for your ship ID—you cannot be in costume and your face must not be covered in any way for this.
Although cosplay plays a huge role in our community and will be celebrated on board, Fan2Sea is much more than a cosplay cruise. We literally have something for every type of fan! That being said, we have several cosplay workshops hosted by some of the hottest cosplayers out there, including: Kristen Hughey, Danica Rockwood, Kristen Lanae and more! Plus, photographer David Love will be on board speaking about how to create dynamic cosplay imagery.
Yes! Costumes and cosplay are absolutely encouraged while aboard the ship throughout your Fan2Sea adventure, unless otherwise noted in your cruise program. Please see our costumes and weapons policy below for details and restrictions.
No functional props or weapons are allowed on the ship; all weaponry must be faux, with no launching or firing components. Simulated faux weapons are welcome components to your costume, subject to prior approval by security and in compliance with the following:
If you do not wish to have your costume and props/accessories inspected, or if you are not willing to comply with these policies, please do not bring them to Fan2Sea with you. All costume props and weapons must be inspected at the Costume Props Desk as outlined above.
We will not be selling costumes on board, but you are 100% free to bring your own costume! We encourage costumes and cosplay on Fan2Sea!
We are having five main panels including Guardians of the Galaxy, The Walking Dead, Marvel Star Wars, Marvel Deadpool, as well as Stranger Things. In addition, we will have dozens of smaller panels and workshops daily during your Fan2Sea cruise adventure.
All panels will be general admission with first-come, first-served seating. The exact schedule of all programming for your Fan2Sea adventure will be released prior to the cruise.
Our Autograph & Photo-op sessions, as well as VIP Experiences, are available for credit card purchase in advance by calling 800-376-2504. Additional Autograph and Photo-op sessions will be available for purchase onboard. While in port, CASH ONLY accepted onboard. Please plan accordingly.
Yes, we have an amazing lineup of comic and industry professionals. Fan2Sea is excited to have top talent from Marvel Comics, including Mark Brooks, Reilly Brown, Scott Koblish, Phil Noto, Chris Sims, Charles Soule and Mark Waid. In addition, Ramsey Avery, the Supervising Art Director on Guardian of the Galaxy Vol 2., will be on board to discuss the behind-the-scenes work on the film. Professional stunt choreographers Mary and TJ McDonnell will also be teaching on Fan2Sea. You are sure to meet some of the best and brightest creative minds out there!
Yes, we have an exciting lineup of talent including performances from the band The Flux Capacitors, DJ Elliot performing at nightly parties, and an 18 and over burlesque show by the Nerdlesque All-Stars. In addition, there will be other musical entertainment on board, including the Brilliance of the Seas house band and multiple karaoke parties.
We’re not quite ready to announce our nightly themes (we want to keep some of them as fun surprises on board), but we can tell you that we’ll be hosting nightly themed movie pool parties and themed dinners in the main dining room. You’ll need to come on board for the full experience!
We’re currently working with gaming professionals to determine our gaming program, but you can rest assured that we will be working to provide all the usual suspects and running the tournaments you would expect at an event like this.
Movie programming will be announced soon, but we can tell you that we’ll be running daily themed movie marathons in the cinema, as well as films out on the pool deck. In addition, we’ll be running the following documentary film series:
Due to new government regulations requiring cruise lines to submit final departure manifests at least 60 minutes prior to sailingguests are requested to complete Online Check-in no later than 3 days prior to their cruise. If you do not complete Online Check-in 3 days prior, you will be required to complete this process at the pier at least two hours prior to the published sailing time. Please note: All guests must be checked-in and onboard the ship no later than 90 minutes prior to the published sailing time or you will not be permitted to sail.
There is a state-of-the-art fitness center onboard so you can pump up before getting into character. Stay in shape with your favorite workout equipment including treadmills, ellipticals and free weights or even yoga, Pilates and spinning.
There are a host of shore excursions that you can choose from. You can sign up onboard, or sign up online before you travel. If you stay onboard you can relax by the pool, take part in some of our scheduled alternative onboard activities, read a book, or just hang out and rest your super powers.
Attendees must respect common sense rules for public behavior, personal interaction, common courtesy, and respect for private property. Harassing or offensive behavior will not be tolerated. Persons finding themselves in a situation where they feel their safety is at risk or who become aware of an attendee not in compliance with this policy should immediately locate the nearest member of security, or staff member, so that the matter can be handled in an expeditious manner.
Chances are you will not. However, if you tend towards motion sickness, you can purchase something over-the-counter or see your doctor before travel.
